GlobeTrotters

If you missed it you really missed it. The Globetrotters bounced into Tampa and put on a great show at the St Pete Times Forum Thursday February 28, 2008. A few days before that Old Meeting House had the pleasure of meeting Anthony Blake #15, a guard for the Globies at a local Radiant convenient store where he talked with patrons’ while spinning a basketball nonstop on his finger. “Does it hurt” most of the children asked. “No”, said Anthony “just a little rubber gets under my finger nail”. They all laughed while staring intently at the spinning ball. Old Meeting House handed out free scoops of ice cream while Anthony signed autographs and took pictures. His contagious smile and winning attitude made the rainy day seem sunny. The Globetrotters event Feb 28, 2008 went on with out a hitch or a slip or a dropped ball.

During intermission Old Meeting House sponsored an ice cream eating event. The children participating were brought to the game courtesy of Wild 98.7 radio station. The kids raced to eat as much Vanilla Bean ice cream as they could and were happy to be the center of attention plus the free ice cream and winning prize pack made them smile too. So, next time The Harlem Globetrotters bounce into town be sure to catch them live at The St. Pete Times Forum. Thanks to the local Radiant stores that participated and Anthony “Buckets” Blake for his ball spinning enthusiasm.
